Dan Blackford spent 11 years with the U.S. Secret Service, the first 5 years with the Uniformed Division assigned to White House operations and 2 years as a Firearms and Defensive tactics instructor. Dan then transferred to the Houston Field office as a technical support officer working on various criminal investigations providing covert electronic surveillance. Dan is also a protection driver and has experience in a variety of armoured vehicles. While assigned to the Houston field office Dan was recognized for his actions in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. During his time with the Secret Service Dan protected Presidents Clinton and Bush. He also protected many foreign heads of state. Prior to Dan’s employment with the Secret Service he worked as a deputy for Liberty county Sheriff’s department.
Dan continues to teach firearms and tactics and is a certified instructor for the State of Texas teaching Concealed Handgun license classes. Dan continues to train in mixed martial arts and Brazilian Jui Jitsu.
Dan is also licensed by the State of Texas Private Security Bureau as a Personal Protection Officer and a Commissioned Security Officer, Texas certified Emergency medical technician and tactical medic.
